I have an SE, maybe that's why. I love me some PRS though. I will get an American one eventually.

Bourbon of the night is not technically a "bourbon," but a whiskey cause it's from Michigan, but it's a damn fine sipping whiskey. Traverse City Whiskey Company straight bourbon whiskey.

Ya, Murican PRS is whole new ballgame. Mines a 20th Anniversary CE 22, very very happy with it.

I'll check out the Traverse city "bourbon" (cuz youre right, technically not a bourbon) as I am right across the river from MI...

Ive got some nice bourbons in my water closet (its all I drink) but today Im sipping on a woodfords double oaked...its nice, but no Eagle Rare

This is a Bourbon thread now!

Great, now I want a Murica PRS. I was damn close to buying an CE 22 maple top. Had the bolt on neck and dragon pickups. It's what sold me on PRS.

Eagle Rare is one of my all time favs. Yeah, if you see a bottle of TC snag it. It's become one of my go toos.

Like you, bourbon is pretty much all I drink. If you add up how much it cost to get a good buzz from beer, it's cheaper just to drink bourbon!

It's sick. I'm jealous. You're killing me man. Even the color is awesome.

I got Guild Polara that I love. It's like their version of an SG, but has an their pickups that make it sound so warm. It's what the lead guitarist of Soundgarden uses.

Tnx...that was a 6 month hunt to nab that one, finally last August. Since then, the prices have gone stoopid...but even worse is the market dried up of inventory. Finding anything quality on the used market these days is a unicorn, for a decent price. At least here :canada:

I did get rooked on a done deal for a 2008 SAS PRS with birds for 1400. THAT was the deal to be had...doods brother found he was selling it and demanded first right of refusal. Would have loved a Swamp Ass Special, but im pretty happy with the CE

I will get one. It's more a matter of where do I keep it and if my girl is gonna bitch about it. I guess she likes me bringing home guitars instead of guns. I got her there haha!

I don't even look for used now. Everyone thinks they have something rare. It's really annoying to see 30 of the same thing all jacked up and the sellers think that have something special.

It really is. You can find stuff on eBay still. Not very often though. Reverb is hopeless. I just buy new for the more part now.

What the sellers have is a sellers market...simple as that.

    Used Tacomas are the same...

Kim Thayil. A group of us paid for bus/hotel/ticket package to travel from Winnipeg to Minneapolis for lollapalooza 2 when we were in grade 12. You can do some rough math to guess my age. Anyways, we were on the hotel shuttle to the Mall of America when we saw Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron coming out of a Twins game. Got the driver to pull over to let us off, and rushed them like a Bunch of teenage fan girls and boys...which of course, we were. I’m sure they didn’t want to be recognized. Just wanted to enjoy some quiet downtime before a big show. But what a couple of cool guys. Stood around and shot the shit with us for 10 or so minutes. Just super nice guys.

Met Angelo from Fishbone the next year. What a fucking dick!! Caught a Danny Carey drumstick after Tools set though.

Daddy's new axe.. Fender custom shop 62 reissue, hand wound true 62 pickups, rosewood + flamed maple neck, light relic paint.

Personally I think that most of the Fender custom shop relic paint jobs look way too contrived (after all every guitar can't look like SRV's), and I swore I would never get sucked into paying more for a Fender custom shop guitar. That said, I was really impressed by the understated relic on this and that flamed maple neck was just a bonus. I've been finishing wood for the past 30 years so I think I have pretty high standards and I feel like they really captured an authentic 62 vibe on this one, and she also plays like a dream.

Learn the first three basic chords so you can start playing. Then add more as you get better and your fingertips toughen up.

Of course video lessons can be extremely helpful nowadays but my advise would be to also spend some time mindlessly noodling while you're watching tv or sitting on the porch.
Since learning can be frustrating you don't want to be stressing yourself out every time you're holding the guitar. Mindlessly noodling will actually help relax your mind
and strengthen your left hand and unconsciously you'll be getting your left hand familiar with the fret board which will be very helpful for when you are trying to practice.
Some teachers might say that noodling is a negative thing but the reality is it's just a freestyle form and when you stumble on a little riff that you created on your own
(even though it's probably been done before) there's a lot of stoke and satisfaction in those moments and that's what keeps you coming back.
Learning can be stressful, noodling equals no stress - music should be a way to decompress not to stress yourself out.

just dug the biggest pos out of the closet.
Rogue with a fishman. Paid $80 for about 10 yeas ago and never changed the strings.

Action is incredibly high but the fishman sounds tits!

I am NOT an acoustic player but im killing "Goodbye blue sky" running thru my eleven rack.

May be time for a quality acoustic.
