Subwoofer installation confusion

So I have a 2018 sr tacoma(utilitycab) with the most basic entune audio head unit. I have a subwoofer and amp im installing but can't find any wiring diagram define with wires are which, and which wires to splice into. Does anybody know which wires to splice into?

Some basics. Most amps have line level inputs (rca connector) vs high level inputs (speaker wire). Most amps have a blue remote turn on lead to tell them to wake up. And every amp needs power and ground.

Subwoofer is usually just + and - but sometimes multiple voice coils which can have more complicated wiring depending on the specific amp. Also can do reverse phase if there is a specific reason to do so (time alignment) but mostly that might get corrected before amplification

 

What information do you need? I have a line out converter i just need to know how to wire it to my radio, so I need to know which wires to hook to which

Maybe this will help or maybe it will be confusing but awhile back someone posted the schematics for the entire truck. These are the pages associated with the audio system. I don’t have any experience using them or ripping apart the Tacoma but thought I would them pass on.

I modified it to do mostly the reverse, inject speaker output from the amp into factory wiring feeding door speakers. I doubt anyone wants that. However I’m almost certainly not going to use it so I’d be fine selling it.



I made a v2 with option for feed from either head unit or amp and additional taps for illumination and remote out. It came out as expected but overall it’s bulky and I don’t love it. So I’d be fine selling it too, the upside of the v2 is you could cut or depin either side to get speaker out or speaker in.



I’m going to tinker with v3 tonight, using OEM connectors but try to make it about 4” long total and the style of v1 since @kmorgan3 already covered me on switch illumination from the hazard plug. It’s kind of nice to have single purpose T harnesses but on the other hand I already have quite the mass of wire behind the head unit with the maestro and germes modules.

The thing is, to do this right you want to have purple green grey and white in both solid and with a black stripe. That’s the color code which is standard across the industry. But I like 16 TXL which is rather hard to find with stripes. I could use 18 GXL or even 16 GXL which would be bulkier but I haven’t yet purchased striped GXL in either gauge. Instead I’m throwing some black heat shrink on to denote the - which is a bit of a low budget move.

 

In this same boat looking for a solution on my 2021 sr5. I am debating a harness from t-tunes into a LOC then into my 250/1 JL and my 8in minisub JL and just trying to do this the best way possible. Another option I was checking out with be T clamps to splice the 4 wires but really all I want in the end is that 1 sub hooked up and no splicing if I can make a harness work.
