So... took my Taco into “a dealership” in Bellingham Wednesday morning for the 55k service. Asked to have a situation looked at that involved water in the passenger side cab anytime it rained. Was told it would be at least an hour diagnostic it it would be later in the day. It’s now COB Saturday night. It’s been radio silence for the last 48hrs. The point of contact I have for service, has now missed 3 promised updates (IE. I’ll call you at noon, I have to call at 1600, to get told I’ll call you later. No phone call...). Once is understandable. But three times?!? We’ve gone from potentially needing the truck over night to having it 4 nights?!?! The dealership is the expert on fixing things right?!? Rant over.

Coincidently??? I JUST got a call. Things might be moving forward. Worst case scenario is Wednesday, but at least I have some info.

It takes awhile to make up a big long list of things they can profit off you on.

Across all dealerships I find they only provide FYI status at the end of the day. Must be some sort of optimized work stream for them. i.e. in the morning only take in new service. Mid day only provides updates for things that are higher than estimates. End of day is when they tell you to pick up the car or they need another day - even if they've known about it since 10 in the morning.

That seems totally reasonable. And if that is the flow, don’t tell the customer you’ll call them‍♂️ (supposed to be shrugged shoulders). And definitely don’t go radio silence for 48 hrs, (not a weekend either).

I have no idea why it changed the shrugged shoulders to the male symbol. SO not what I was communicating.
