I can 100 percent say I would not spend money on a standard awning, though. they are SO awkward to set up, even with two people. I would only buy a 270* style awning that has the legs and arms fixed to the canvas and swings out. having the telescoping arms seperate from the fabric, holding this 6.5ft aluminum beam 8ft out trying to hold tension, while trying to extend the arm poles and get them in place... its just a circus.

If you don't want the size, weight, or cost of a 270* awning, Arq4wd out of Venezuela makes 270* style awnings in 90, 180, and 270* for very affordable price, even after shipping costs to USA from Venezuela. I plan to get an Arq 270 sooner than later as an interim until I get an alucab tent and shadow awning (which, aside from cost, I need to wait until I live somewhere that I can park outside (or taller garage door for inside) so that I can leave the Alu set up on permanently.

Wow. Those are awesome and they would work great for the gx rear door. The only reason I considered the arb was because I was going to trade some worn suspension for it but you got me thinking now. I will have to look into them a bit more

I'm on the hunt for a GX470 right now! I've decided to make it difficult for myself by only considering non-nav...but I'll find one eventually!
