I imagine everyone's engine clocks slightly a few mm here and there. Unbolting and shifting the starter was necessary for me to get one of the corner bolts. Also I had to slot my rear trans mounts because the tolerance is extremely tight and/or metal shrink when welding. I used the Dirt Designs kit per @DocME recommendation. I worked on the fronts and then rear but took me about 6 hours. If you don't have a hoist or engine lift, may be more difficult but I didn't see any proper jacking point underneath that I'd trust. And because visual education is fun

Ah yes good reminder I did have to unbolt the starter as well. Forget where I jacked up from underneath but it worked. I also pulled tires off to give more room to work in the wheel well.

The type of fasteners that Bonzen used were jam nuts and required I continually torque using a rachet in really tight spots and I even had to use a box end wrench at one point. The AC compressor was in the way so much. My list goes on and on but in general 4x4 is a pain in the rear to do mounts on. I couldbarely fit power tools in those insanely tight spaces.

Put it this way, the engine mounts on 4x4 trucks were basically designed to never come out.

If you have an air compressor and access to a jack as well as air tools and a range of sockets/ swivels/ extensions, go for it. If not take it to a shop.

Hey man, none of your advice counts because you cheat and you have tubes and a bunch of open space to allow sockets and extensions and just general junk to get through. Cheater. Hahaha.

I think it took me 4 or 5 hours. The problem was the AC compressor was in the way a bunch.

Pictures look great. I'd say that's a pretty good time estimate right there to do engine and tranny swapped over. Any word on your transmission troubles?

Now I do, but when I did them I still had inner fenders and no engine cage. And yeah maybe I was closer to 4-5hrs. It was a while ago, I just remember it going easier than others had complained about

Yeah 4-5 hours seems to be pretty standard..that's about how long it took me and another few for the steering rack bushings.

I toasted the trans. Probably low fluid as that seems like a common cause of overheating. Must have happened when I swapped radiators. I overfilled and let some fluid out of the transmission.

Plan is to replace the a750 trans and swap a "heavy duty" built torque converter . I also have a ratiotek to install and PML deep pan.

Just remember. If you do a "heavy duty torque converter" you can kiss low speed off roading or crawling good bye. The stall on those are usually much higher on those than factory and are usually designed to stall up to around the engines powerband and stay within that range the remainder of the time you have your foot down there.

You better have a HD cooler ready to go as well because those tend to produce a significant amount of heat as well over their OE counterparts which if left unchecked will leave you right where you started. Just a warning.

It says, "Supercharged". :D But, I'll let them know to be more specific.

I would imagine it would fit. But Gerald only had 2012-2015 model to test fit.

Stupid question......I haven’t looked at the link yet so don’t shoot me. Does it matter if it is auto or stick? Or will the bottom hose clear no matter what??

I doubt it. I took the original magnuson hose over to them and they basically created a new one with their material. They did a test fit on @jojotoo 's truck. I'm not sure if his was a manual or auto.

Isn't the bottom hose the only one that's different. I can't seem to remember.
