Hope you're not one of those AHs that I meet with front lights too bright for my eyes to adjust to.
Fog lights SHOULD be off when the high beams are used.
Fog lights should also be off when not needed. They offer no real advantage on the open road on a clear night.
    JMHO.

Lol why would it matter to oncoming traffic if the fogs are on with the highs? Either way stupid bright.

Im curious about always on fogs too without cutting into the column harness for the kits I've seen. Where I drive they stay on year round but they are aimed proper and do a great job filling out the side lighting where the projectors miss.

    @Hatfieco05:
Even properly aimed fogs throw enough excess light to adversely affect many of us with aging eyes. Too much light, the irises narrow, then after passing the irises take a bit of time to widen again. A bit of vision impairment albeit very short.
I don't disagree that they help fill-in side lighting, but do you really need it on the open road on a clear night?
I think far too many folks turn on the fogs and never turn them off.

I have LED fog lights mounted under the rear bumper with a relay off the reverse lights.

There is only so many times you knock over the trashcans before you realize you can't see when its pitch black.

I can see a need for fog lights and high-beams just so I don't hit stuff in the dark while driving across the field in the dark.

Having a button for them means regardless of how they are wired, you can still turn them off and not be an asshole.

My Kc Hilite G4 you can barely tell that they are on from an oncoming viewpoint. No glare. I spent alot of time making the wife drive back and forth to make sure of it. Im aware of how the human eye works, however properly aimed lighting negates 95% of the glare that causes those reactions. Yes I do need them on a clear night where I drive. Its the difference between whacking a deer and not sometimes.

By the time you pick up a deer with your fogs, it's probably too late to do any evasive action.
    Good excuse though.

The first deer is never the one that you hit, its always the one following it.

What about those pesky trash bins? Sometimes they are laying low and do a surprisingly good job of hiding in the dark.

I swear they jump out at me when I least expect them!

Going based on my experience its prevented a few unwanted contacts but to each their own. My fogs will stay on with the lows and hopefully soon the highs as well.

To everyone commenting whether I should run the fogs with highs, or not because of other drivers, great. But I live where its extremely dark, with lots of wildlife and having as much light as possible helps keep me from hitting animals. I know you think you see them and then arent' able to react but it could still help. I am installing the DD SAE fogs and they shouldnt be blinding people..... thanks for the concern. I just wanted answers if I could tap them with the SP9100 not whether I should be using my fogs or not.

There is a product called the Brite Box which will allow you to run both OP

also i agree with you, i have DD SAE pros and live in an extremely remote and pitch dark area of the country. The way the fogs light up the forested areas to the sides of the road helps me spot Elk and deer in a way that the high beams do not. Running both increases your safety and folks from the northeast will not understand the darkness we are dealing with

Precisely, thank you for articulating that.
I will do some searching now for the Brite Box, thanks for the tips. If I can't figure it out, may shoot you a PM. Cheers

"NOTE: Our Brite Box Fogster for 2020 Toyota Tacoma currently only works with halogen bulbs from the factory."
My 20 came factory with fogs and the halogen headlights. I did switch the headlights out to the LED using the harness from one of the members on here. Does this mean the brite box will work with my model or not? Im confused about this. Might send them an email. Thanks

Im guessing their harness probably only fits the one for the halogen lights. I’d email them. Hopefully there is some kind of adapter that will make it work.

I did send them an email. Im sure they can help.

Use one of my Switches from the SP9100 into the power wire of the fogs, forcing power to them and triggering them with the high beams...

Hard top camper...many more to add+
Where I live ..very little or no street lights...mostly 2-lane country roads...very dark...

On a very heavy rainy night..I turn on my fog light..it really help me see the roads better, more towards ,nearby sides..and not too much lighting towards the front...so I hit the highlights...only to find the fog lights turn off..
Is was better with the fog lights on..so NO high beams...surprise ,surprise for me..

Another time I accidentally left my pod lights on..when I got to the highway...boy did they light the street..was so visible!.
But there are reason for this set up of lights or lighting..now I know..
    Aloha
