Yes, I’m guessing it is the airplay / CarPlay versus straight Bluetooth.

I just used CarPlay (cabled) to connect my phone to the truck head unit as I ran errands this afternoon and I’m still at zero minutes of headphone usage at volume.

Previously, I was using Bluetooth which seems to be the issue. With 14.3, every Bluetooth connection seems to be considered “headphones”.

    Is your system a Halo9?

    Also, can you post pics?

Yup its the Budget Halo9 option seriously kicking myself for not going with the 309... but it was almost double the price

I've been happy with the Alpine ILX-107 the past few years. It has wireless Carplay and I feel like it fits well in the 05-15 dash.

I have a pioneer W8400NEX. It is one of the first that had wireless carplay. It is great, works very well. Has gotten better over last year.

I have a wireless charger as well (squish) that is attached to a birdawg tech deck.

Plugging it in, doesn't seem like a big deal at all - until you don't have to anymore.

As I've said elsewhere, this is probably one of my favorite mods on my truck. I've had it for around two years. I upgraded from a NEX unit with carplay that did not have wireless.

Does it maintain cam and steering wheel controls?

Edit: never mind, you have a 2007.

You can disable those notifications by going into Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Headphone Safety. There you will see two toggles for Headphone Notifications and Reduce Loud Sounds. I have both of those disabled.

I've installed OEM steering wheel controls since that picture, and yes with Axxess ASWC-1 they work like factory. I assume you could also attach the OEM camera if you had one. It works fine with aftermarket cameras.

Just curious, but if you install the "right side" controls found on later 2nd Gens to your earlier steering wheel, will they work with an aftermarket stereo like that? You may need to install a new clock spring...

This thread is about adding the controls to a 2008 Tacoma that he updated with a 2014 touchscreen with nav:

Yeah I did the entire airbag and clock spring swap to get my steering wheel controls. I only have the controls on the left side though. The right side is a blank plate, all I wanted was volume and skip controls.
