Snug top GB sport for sale in my area. Great price. Comes with all the toys and features. I want to camp in my truck from time to time and my only concern is the side windows are pop outs instead of slides. Does anyone have experience with this shell? Talk me in or out of it!

You didn't put a price,,, but that said, resale is usually for shit on tops, so if you can snag one locally, that fits most of your wants, don't delay! You can always turn around and sell it if you're not happy with it.

I have mentioned the GB sport purchased in June 18. No leaks and has held up well. The only complaint is the gas struts for the back window go out before the one year warranty. So figure 30 bucks every year from Amazon or eighty from the dealer.

I consider the popouts instead of side slides a plus as less chance for failure. You also have the front window slide. Mine has the option for entire front window fold down.

Slept in bed only once mainly cause I have too much stuff and fridge is annoying. Didn't have any problems with ventilation.

$1,500 is a great price for that model if it is in good shape! Paid north of $3K for a fully optioned new GB Sport on a long bed in 2019. Love it but side windows are more form over function. Sliding windows or windoors would be much more functional for access and camping. To each their own on that!

Hard top camper...many more to add+
Buy it! .my leer cost $3500..
Just be aware...check to see if the inside window facing cab can be remove or drop down...making cleaning the window outside of camper and outside cab windows of the truck making it way easier...to clean
This is always worth the cost..!
Full size trucks has more room ..between cab and camper most times...to be able to clean from the outsides..
    Aloha

nice looking camper...anytime a camper is painted...it adds approx $250, to over $500.00.more...

I often am not a fan of how shells look, but that’s a great looking setup. I like all of it.

6 foot or 5 ft bed ? If 5 then a waste of money since u can’t sleep in there comfortably unless your like 4ft lol . You are better off with getting a rack and roof top tent .

This is not sound advice. People over 5ft can sleep in a short bed top. And saying it’s a waste of money is entirely relative. Depends where you camp, you’ll need a hardshell roof top tent for bears anyway if you don’t want to be a burrito.

Another example being entirely subjective. OP said nothing about sleeping in it either yet here we are.

I was simply pointing out that you’re comparing apples to oranges with a rack system/ RTT vs a topper shell.

I’m not drunk but I am considering it if you keep arguing like a Neanderthal.

IMO snugtop brand is better compared to Leer or ARE. If it's a color match and fits your year vehicle I would snag it ASAP

Thank you everyone! I went ahead and bought it and I love it already! I do plan to sleep back there. Us < 6' folk can sleep diagonally just fine. Next step will be building the sleeping platform. I will upload a pic to the thread as well!

I was looking at Snugtop but the closest dealer to me is in Oklahoma. May I ask what specifically you like about Snugtops vs LEER amd ARE?

Congrats on a solid investment! Looking forward to seeing the glamour shots. I’m having trouble finding anything local especially for my color unless I go with a wrap. Probably going to have to order from a dealer.
