Toyota downgraded driveshaft?!

    Agree with TNshooter. Joints w/o zerks are def stronger. But most of us aren’t drag racing either. I prefer the zerks for maintainability.

    My OEM u joints with zerks self destructed at about 110K miles anyway. Driveshaft specialty shop replaced with non-zerk version....said they were "better", and "that's what i'd do for my own rig". I dunno....

    I wouldn't loose any sleep over it either way. You've got too much time on your hands if this is still bothering you.

    They don't specify which lifetime though...the Mayfly has the shortest lifespan of any animal on earth, just 24 hours or less. So I guess technically as long as your driveshaft lasts at least one day, they can say they aren't liable for any failure
