The factory bed mat is actually a bargain for what you get. A cheap horse stall mat would be $60 and you would need to cut to fit. My factory mat is currently in my garage with my motorcycle on it. If you want carpet just watch warehouse deals and buy it cheap. Might need to contact bedrug for the install kit (mine was missing in two of my purchases). but they are quick to send one out at no charge. Their CS seems top notch (should be though when they are selling $50 worth of material for $400 retail). Actually I think there’s a full bed rug for short bed on there for around $140 right now.

I think this is one I just sent back a couple weeks ago. I bought it and it was for a short bed. Then I bought another full bed rug even cheaper on there that was correct 6’ length. Worth a try, easy enough to return.

My bed mat has been used quite a bit. It has been in two Tacomas in its life.

Went to the market today and they were giving away free leftover poinsettias. I got a huge one, put in in the bed of my truck unsecured and proceeded to drive a S curve road for several miles. With the bed mat, the plant didn't even tip over. It is really non slide.

I had a 4 X 8 sheet of sign board (corrugated plastic) left over from a job so I cut it to fit in the bed and I put it over the BedRug for hauling dirty stuff. 4 feet doesn't quite go all the way side to side but it's close enough.

Good idea. I was thinking about a piece cardboard. Always used the mattress boxes from the local furniture store in past mini-vans I owned.

Ask your self u want a soggy carpet back there or a rubber mat that dries and prevents stuff from sliding around .

I figure I'll get one of these cargo bars when I get my Bedrug & Undercover Elite installed. That will keep things from sliding around. Line up 5 milk crates along the tailgate and that will work for me.

I'll chime in. I've thrown tons of shit on the oem bed mat and all it has to show for it is a few scratches. It's heavy af and best bang for buck imo.

How can it get soggy with a one piece Undercover Elite cover sealing the bed up?? Please share your vast knowledge with this poor peasant.
