I just got a official Toyota warning letter that a recall is coming on my truck and it could loose power or stall and not start. It is a "caution letter" that the low pressure fuel pump could fail It looks like the lawyers wrote it. That when Toyota has decided what to I will get an recall letter.

Join the club got my warning letter 2 months ago still waiting to be put on the list. During this whole time my truck drives fine including a 2000 mile trip last month so I wouldn’t worry too much unless you are actually having issues.

I bought a Toyota for the reliability. I am not sure if any vehicle is trust worthy anymore. I am not worried but I will be careful where I go. Some of areas where I like to go there is 100 miles of little to no cell phone service. Some places I might have to walk 20 miles on dirt roads and trails to get reception. There are no street signs to tell a tow truck how to find the my truck. May be I should take a bicycle just in case, I haven't ridden a bike in 30 years.

I haven't experienced any of the issues in the recall. I'll still be getting it done when able but not everyone is stalling and being left on the side of the road.

I got the same letter about 3 months ago. My pump was replaced in an hour just before new years. FWIW my truck drove great on the old fuel pump, i wouldnt worry about it too much. I dont know anyone that was stuck on the road with a faulty fuel pump.

Just got my letter for recall for fuel pump..2019 TRD,..I called my dealer...they did not get a recall letter with my VIN..
Once Corp Toyota..sends the dealer ,the recall (VIN) for my truck..only then can they order the New fuel pump..( no cost to dealer)..they said to call back in a few weeks, or 2-months..

what can you do in the mean time? Pray your fuel pump does not fail...anyone got a spare bicycle?
    Aloha,

I'd recommend a Garmin InReach satellite communicator. The monthly subscription isn't that much and it's perfect for those remote areas if you need to contact someone.
