Hi everyone. I have read countless pages on the forum regarding tire and lift combo and the state of rubbing. I have a simple question that I am not sure have been answered by all these posts - with my BP-51 2.5 inch lift (front and rear) will a 285 75 r16, 285 70 r16 or 255 85 r16 fit without rubbing?

I have stock UCA's and rim (TRD off road).

I love the look of bigger tires but I want the truck to be functional and avoid trimming away.

Any insight is greatly appreciated. David.

The 255s MIGHT not rub. But the others 100% will. A cab mount chop is pretty much required in order to run 33s without running

This... the wheel dimensions will play a pivotal roll in the fitment as well.

Thanks guys for the quick reply. I would imagine that I might be able to do a 275 70 r16 without rubbing using the stock rims?

Yes, 275/70R-16 should work just fine - just bear in mind this is not a common size so the selection is somewhat limited.

The only size bigger than stock that you're guaranteed not to rub is 265/75r16. Anything wider and you might hit the cab mount. If you don't plan on going off road the 275s should be fine, but any lift that isn't a drop bracket should bottom out at the same place as stock (on the bump stop). Thus, a lift does not allow for bigger tires, only trimming does

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
You bought good suspension, why not spend $450 and pickup some JBA UCAs so that you can get proper alignment numbers once you lift?
The BP51 are pretty nice, might as well finish off the lift with some good UCAs. They will help minimize the rubbing.

Dude you need new UCAs period with that kit. To answer your question 255’s all day

following up on this one - I'm in the same boat as OP. I'm taking my stock SR5 (245/75/16) and want to put an OME BP-51 2" lift on with 255/85/16s and I'm planning on getting the OME UCAs that come with the full kit. Did your setup work without trimming if you went the 255 route?
