Replacing Mirror Caps - Door Handles on 2021 Limited

I was looking at Nightshade Tacomas and now have fallen in love with this red limited, EXCEPT its just covered in Chrome. I don't want to Plasti-dip a car I pay this much for, I assumed the mirrors I can just buy replacement caps for (blind spot warning) and the door handles and fog lights are easy replacements? I can swap the grill and not worried about the wheels.

What am I getting myself into I am sure I am one of many, but searching the forums was becoming daunting. Sorry Newbie.

 

Replacing fog light bezels, mirror caps, and door handles is pretty easy.

The last 2 digits on prepainted parts are the paint code, so you’ll need to find the appropriate ones to match.

Mirror caps are super easy to swap. You don't even need any tools, just grab them and pull towards the front of the truck.

 

I assume the cover is the same with blind spot monitoring or not?

 

Is there a good "how too" on switching out the door handles?

You want caps with the turn signal cutout.
The part numbers are in the link I posted above.
You just need to order the appropriate color code.

Removal/installation is the same.

 

pretty much anything cosmetic can be swapped out with parts from different trims or aftermarket.

That is a beautiful truck that someone obviously put a lot of love and care into.
There are plenty other trucks out there. Let us Chrome Enthusiasts keep this one.

A lot of guys here don’t like chrome. But it’s your choice of course.

 

It’s just a bit much, want to flip the side mirrors red. Trying to figure out how to get a nightshade style grill. Probably leave the door handles.

 

I would look on eBay for one and then try to find the part number in the description. It’s cheaper to order one online and pick it up at the dealership.

But I bought a 2021 Black Tacoma to dress up. When I finish, I will post pics.

Okay.. I am having a midlife crisis. If I bought the vehicle that makes sense for me I would get a Ridgeline... So now as I move towards the Tacoma, Chrome or not seems to be another form of vehicular mid-life crisis!

I want this vehicle, like the interior more than nightshade with black. (Hickory) which I have not seen in Sports. I don't like the grill, I like the more traditional hex, these look like work trucks with that grill. And I think the chrome side mirrors are a bit much, not blacking out.. Just for $50 I will make the red. Otherwise the handles have grown on me and not worrying about anything else.. Other than maybe the fog lights.

 

If I’m not mistaken, I believe the limited grill is just a chrome version of the SR/SR5 grille (black)

 

Yeah it is, except this one has the camera cut out on it for the panoramic parking.
