This is a topic that gets me down a little sometimes. I've applied for supervisor position 5x here in the last ten years, and planner 2x. I think it boils down to not being easy to fill the position I'm in. Sure there's plenty of good machinists out there, but not so many in South East Nebraska.
I mentioned to my current supervisor yesterday during year end performance review, my desire to be a supervisor. He warned me be careful what you wish for.
I guess in the end I'm happy to have the job I do, it's a decent living. A little burn out at my current position, I feel I'd make a good supervisor and it be about $10.00 hour more.

 

Haha, yes, it’s an original NES. I rebuilt it so there’s no flashing screen of frustration. I even opened and polished all of the cartridge pins too.
I even have the McDonalds happy meal display sign and the original toys that go with it!
If I get bored with that, I’ve got a whole shelve full of early 90’s Car & Driver magazines.
I’m good for a while, and I even have a floor hatch to drop straight into my shop! As @tacotoe said, it’s dads playhouse!

 

I came in late to the shop this morning, had to work the store and feed the kids. My wife had to go back to the doctor, she has something going on with her thyroid. It’s swollen and she’s having trouble swallowing and breathing when she lays down at night. They did an ultrasound this morning and won’t her to have a biopsy done next. We’ll find out results from the ultrasound within 24 hours.

I made a quick little fixture to keep these handles square so I can drill and tap the hole. Luckily the tap drill is close enough I can use a center drill and not have to do another tool change for the drill bit.

 

For some reason I don’t see you coming back out from there

 

All I needed was an excuse!

 

This thread gives me a headache.

I’ve only ever heard references of this thread, I haven’t dared to venture in... yet. Sounds like too much Going on in there.
