Midlife crisis 2.0: got a txt from sales guy-"we have a Pro"

Just got my SR5 in November. Wife will probably let me get it but I would have to sleep in it. It's my color too. Told sales guy they will probably sell it today, if it hasn't already been sold. Sales guy said it just rolled off the truck yesterday. Which is a good thing because that doesn't look like a Pro or they have the same stock photo for all trims

Are there any pricing incentives? Anything more you would need from it for you to jump from your SR5? You could just build your SR5 to a PRO-ish truck

 

Nah - just bantering with the sales guy. It is probably a slow day. I'm quite happy with my SR5.

Sales guy said it just came in yesterday. That is the wrong photo obviously. The grill ain't right. That looks like an SR. LOL

I think you'll be fine with your SR and probably sleep better.

 

Dealership probably has a stock photo of each color and not each trim that they post until they can get actual pictures of the truck.

The truck will sell in a day or two anyways so they probably don't even need to take pictures of it.

 

Strange that it doesnt show a pic of an actual Pro.

You bet. I got my 21 SR5 from that dealership last November. I thought we initially had a deal on an SR5 i4 but when I got the OTD it went past my target and I didn't show up. He texted me on a Saturday afternoon on the way to church and we worked out a decent deal for an SR5 V6. Mind you, I was looking at a used 2015 PreRunner w 38K miles at Carmax priced at 30K OTD. For a few K more I was going to get a brand new SR5. Once a sales deal is made they let the buyer bang on a big gong in the lobby. Hope he gets the sale and that big gong sound.

+1. Coincidentally, a young couple came by to test drive my other daily driver, a CT 200h that I am trying to sell, because consolidating (what can I say, I love driving the Taco more). They drove up in an MGM TRD 4x4 OR. I told him "nice truck" and he said likewise. She almost test drove by herself because we were now talking about what kind of tonneau cover I had on my truck

OP, that dealer knows you and they know they can sell your SR5 very quickly.

No harm done is asking him to put a deal on the table that makes it hard for you to resist trading in and trading up. Might be a huge gap ... but then again .. .might not be ...

One time I was at a BMW dealer getting service (car was paid for) and the sales guy walks over and says hey if you are waiting mind if I look at the value of your car, how much you owe, etc. I said sure. I am not looking but put a deal together that I can't refuse ... you never know. After a little back and forth, we had a deal and I had no complaints at all.

Worth at least seeing what he says ... Just make sure it is a long bed, in case the wife makes you sleep back there for awhile ... you will want the extra room!

 

LOL. Thanks. I actually joked with the sales guy about doing a double trade: my other daily driver (which coincidentally I am trying to sell) along with my 21 SR5. He played along and said bring those in and we'll evaluate it. We are 4.5 hrs from DFW so I can't play along because if I get the missus to drive the other car just to get estimates, I am 100% certain will be driving back in the Pro, it is going to be an interesting drive back home, and I know where I am sleeping tonight

 

Don't do it unless your height is less than the bed length ... otherwise you'll be sleeping in the fetal position.
