New member here (not so new to tacos previously had a 2016 sr5) Picking up a 2021 TRD Off Road DCSB in about a month. I will be looking to do some upgrades right off the bat. I know the simple items (wheels, tires, bumbers, rock sliders, skid plates, and bed accessories) those i am pretty good to go on. What i am asking about is opinions on suspensions (full kit, or just shocks for what i want to do), lift height for what i will be doing, and the smaller finer details in and around all of these other things that i do not know or may be missing in relation to the off roading i will be doing.

the style of off road will be up and down some fairly steep hills that are filled with holes, gravel, or muddy, along with an occasional real off road adventure in colorado or utah maybe once a year. I camp, hike, sport climb, and boulder so i will be going to and setting up in a lot of different areas.

If you will, please post ideas, brands for specific items, builds already finished, general advice, and anything else you may find useful and would like to share.

    thank you.

Take a look in my build, I think mine started out as what you wanted, but I am eventually redoing my suspension and tires.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/rlx02s-wish-i-had-more-time-for-wheeling-build.605079/

I have Icons all around with an icon AAL, 285s, front/rear bumper + rock sliders.

I realized most of the stuff I did initially, I could do with a basically stock 4x4, so I've been wanting to do more challenging stuff.

If i could do it again from the start, I would have done mid travel front suspension, chevy 63" swap in the rear with 12-14" shocks, regear and 35s. This way, you can do whatever you like to do in the gravel/muddy roads but also be equipped for the more challenging obstacles.
