I like heavier BCGs for gassier guns. I'll do that before stepping up to an H2 buffer or replacing the gas block.

 

CMMG conversions are a breeze.

 

That's what I'll probably end up getting. Ideally, I would prefer a dedicated upper identical to my main.

 

i went with the 1-6 for multigun. if i ever do one again. who knows

 

I got my 1-4 for multigun, but ended up not competing with it lol. Back then, the expensive optics were 1-6 and 1-8 was just hitting the market in high-end optics.

 

the next one coming up i heard they were going to do 22lr instead for the rifle stages

 

Here they've cut back round counts nearly in half.

I stopped competing in 2019 so I could stockpile ammo. I could see the writing on the wall and I remembered 2012s panic. I wish I had started earlier, though.

 

i might have to dig into my lead nose. i don't know if i have much 22lr left haha.

 

I have almost 2k left. I'm rationing .22LR, too.

Same, but I expected that by this time production would have caught up. I had a few thousand of each, now I'm in the low hundreds.

I cut range trips to 1-2 per month until October, then I cut to 1 per month. After the election, I began ammo rationing.

I count rounds for drills or plinking and set just enough aside to hit those counts. Last range trip, I brought 32 rounds of .45ACP, 40 rounds of 5.56 and 50 rounds of 6.5 Grendel.

 

i'm hoping to have enough to not have to pay covid prices for ammo haha. but once again, i didn't things would get worse again before they got better

 

I haven't bought very much ammo last year. I was buying normal and stocking-up until this past March. After that, it was random good deals found at local stores or online. Most of what I've bought has been .30-06 (for my M1 Garand) and 6.5 Grendel match and steel surplus.

I did pick up some sub-$11 9mm, $18 .45ACP and $12 5.56/.223 as recent as December.

This week should show another price increase, according to distributors who are getting hit with another increase.

 

i think the last time we bought ammo was march. we waited in line for an hour just to get in, most people were buying guns. we walked out with 5 cases

 

I've only waited in line once last year. I was the tenth person and I ended up not getting anything because my calibers weren't available. It was hunting calibers and long range calibers I don't use.

I do have .30-30 lol, which I got in trade with some guns and that stuff is about $5/round

 

the shop by me was always slammed anyway, but since covid it's an hour to get into the building every time now

 

There's almost no ammo anywhere here or it's priced out of most people's budget.

Nothing common is on the shelves. Some of the more uncommon stuff hangs around like .300 RUM, .35 Whelen and 28 Guage.

 

And just to think, I used to pay $7.99 for a box of 30-30 about 10 years ago.
