Hello all, I have searched the forums looking for suggestions on what and how to replace the factory non JBL speakers in our 2020 TRD Off Road RWD. Not much if anything is posted as far as I can find.
I am looking for what speaker to use that plug n play, tips and tricks on improving quality of sound from stock head unit. I'm not looking to get the best, just something that sounds nice without breaking the budget.
Thank you all in advance, appreciate all the good posts here on TacomaWorld!

Suggest you may want to poke around on Crutchfield.com for replacement speakers. Many options to fit budgets.

I doubt if there is much you can do with the existing HU other than tweaking the Equalizer....

TRD Pro suspension with Headstrong 3 Leaf AAL, DV8 OR front slimline bumper & Engine Skid Plate, RCI OR high clearance bumper, CaliRaised Trail Edition Sliders, Spidertrax 1.25" Wheel Spacers, 265/75 16 GY Duratracs, wrapped the OEM wheels, OR Roof Rack, Extang Exceed Hard top Tri fold tonneau.
I have replaced my tweeters with the Subaru Kicker ones, as well as replacing the OEM speakers with Kicker CS series, and added a small Infinity subwoofer. I also sound deadened and sound proofed the doors, back wall, and the rear floorboards to the storage boxes. I had intended to also add a small 4 channel amp, but the sound, as it is, is quite good, in fact it is better than my wife’s Lexus at highway speed as the sound deadening and proofing really helps the stock HU keep up. I will still probably get the small Kicker Key amp, but with the current sound as good as it is, I don’t feel a sense of urgency. I am also going to sound deaden and proof the roof as well once it warms up a bit to help with wind noise from the roof rack.
