My overhead temp display is working but does not show the right temperature. Thoughts on how I can fix this issue

Have the same issue, just re-soldered the 510 chip after it failed for the second time. Now it randomly fluctuates between incorrect temps. compass works perfect though.

Predator tube steps, Ranch Hand grill guard, Magnaflow CatBack exhaust, Toyota tool box & bed mat, 2LO Module by @Up2NoGood, Rearview Compass/Temp Mirror, Tune by @JustDSM.
Check for a corroded connector/wire at the outside temp sensor (should be on the radiator support in front of the A/C condenser) Might be simple as that.

Also if you do need to check or replace your external temp sensor it sits right behind the grille.

I have replaced the external temperature sensor but I didn’t check the plug for corrosion
