You’d be better off making a chart and throwing darts.

I’ve run a variety of foxes on my trucks. Currently have the TRD pro set on which if you tell tw, people will lose their mind and tell you that you can get better for less.. but i have no extra weight and it’s tuned for the truck and I don’t need / want a lift.. zero complaints from me. Running the same thing on my tundra, only thing I’ve done is upgrade the leaf pack for my camper.

Lol! I'm going to give the Bilsteins another season before I decide.

Chicks definitely dig thick tires!

    Don't forget Radflo. ;)

And, Ironman, Elka, Toytec, OME, etc, etc :goingcrazy:

I'm hearing good things about those! I'm a year away from deciding anything, so I'll surely change my mind a dozen times before then! :D

^^^^truth! Just don't put Icon on the chart. :crapstorm:

I have actually been leaning toward a minimal weight setup. I really need to go through my recovery gear and tools and see what's worth lugging around, and what's dead weight.

Oh there will be some mods all right
They did absolutely fantastic on my frontier. I'll give you the quote that I Said to someone else who asked about them. "It was great. Every day normal driving was pretty good. A tiny bit firmer than stock, but just barely. For towing and truck stuff it did awesome. Had a bed full of wood, heavy cooler, and other camping stuff while towing a pop-up and didn't break a sweat. Also a few pages back I posted a pic of the truck full of wood using the bed extender and it did great. As for off-road....well... lets just say it allowed me to get carried away. I almost never slowed down for an obstacle and towards the end I was speeding up for stuff while yeehawing In conclusion, I would recommend it."

I'm just trying to keep the center of gravity low, and avoid lugging around a bunch of unnecessary stuff. It's part of the reason I sold the Jurassic Park basket, and am building my own low profile roof rack.

That's how I feel! Operation "Thicc Runner" is coming along! I can't wait to see them on the 4Runner!

Hmm. Guess I can’t be a part of that club...

My truck weighs 1400 lbs over stock... give or take. And besides the like 25 lbs of bug out stuff I keep in the back (sleeping bag, extra pair of clothes jacket shoes, etc) that I’ve never used, I’m not sure how I could cut weight. Hybrid front bumper? But I use all the shit in and on my chunky ass truck. :notsure:.

*** edit, do I need to carry my tools to the grocery store? No. But the second you take that stuff out is the second you need it. And I could take all my recovery gear out except when I go out. But... that makes spontaneous trips or constant weekend trips annoying.

Plus overlanding isn’t a thing. Camping, it’s called camping.

Wrong! Overlanding is car camping with Instagram.

I'm not sure if the term has roots that don't involve social media, but it seems somewhat appropriate for how I hope to use the 4Runner in the future.

Overlanders is a term used during the western expansion of North America to describe the settlers and pioneers that moved west while traveling over land rather than by ship around South America. I learned that at the Oregon Trail Museum in Oregon. Not sure who started calling car camping 'overlanding' but it probably pre-dates IG.

Well that's not nearly as interesting as I was hoping.

I think the best part if a 5 tire rotation is that you're dropping the spare and cycling that mechanism so it doesn't lock up on you.
