I have a 2009 DBL Cad 4x4. I disconnected the battery Wednesday to clean the posts and terminals. When I reconnected the battery the alarm started going off and hasn't stopped. I lost the FOB years ago. I removed the door lock cleaned it and turned the key three times with the door closed and another time open, I turned the key in the ignition from ACC to ON quickly back and forth five times, I put the key in the ignition turned to ACC and held the reset button beside the hood release (not the tire presser sensor reset. well, in frustration I tried that too later) NOTHING has worked! The truck started once but went right back to blaring horn and flashing lights when I turned it off on Thursday. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can't get to work without my truck.

I assume this is an after-market alarm system?

Try turning the ignition on and press and hold the valet button for 10-15 seconds

I think so. I thought it was factory until I found the reset button last night.

This might be a stupid question, but where is the Valet button? I looked on the column and don't see anything.

I'd just get rid of the whole thing!

I've been seriously considering that, but it's not an option

Didn’t you say there was a “reset button” mounted beside the hood release. Assuming that’s your valet button you’re talking about. This is an aftermarket unit correct?

Yes I did. I just tried it in the ON position, that didn't work either.

We can't help you very well unless you dig around under the steering wheel and identify what brand and model the alarm is. Then we can start giving you better answers, @TWN76

Thanks! I was able to get the alarm to stop. Apparently, I wasn't pressing the reset button fast enough. Now she tries to start but doesn't turn over and I don't have dome lights. This is turning into a real joyride.

Knowing that the alarm has been going off a bunch, I'd try charging your battery to make sure it wasn't drained too low for the starter to work. The dome lights part is hopefully unrelated.

I put a new battery in this evening. It's tight and secure.
