3rd Gen SSO Slimline Hybrid Bumper/Winch install guide - How To Article with Tips.

Did you order the full bumper or the hybrid? I ordered my hybrid on Oct 21 and received it just before Christmas.

 

Just the regular slimline. Not sure there is a thread for those.

Ordered 11/29. IG stories have the order numbers on the bumpers, which is how I can guess where mine is in the pipeline.

E - slimline hybrid. It's been a long millenium.

 

Made bumper for my Minime, now just gotta wait for the real one.

 

Mine might ship next week, that will have been two months.

 

Same here. Talked with Lee Laurent and he said they are just waiting on the cardboard to arrive from the supplier to start shipping, hopefully next week. Ordered mine 11/11.

 

Something I may not have seen an answer to: how confident are people in the ability to recover off this bumper?

 

Looking at their IG stories, I'm still several hundred orders off from seeing mine completed. Even though mine has been in "Final Fabrication" status for several weeks now.

 

I’ve left them alone this week with all the snow and cold drama down there. Fed Ex and LTL freight was not running at all Monday-Wednesday. He did confirm last Thursday (2/11) that they got the cardboard boxes in and started to get them out the door. I have to imagine it will take a while to clean up the backlog. Hopefully will see mine ship soon.

 

Can’t wait to get my hands on one of these. Follow OP and all his builds, his tacoma has inspired me to look towards a FWC and building out my truck in a similar way.

 

Got mine finally yesterday! Ordered November 12th. I know they were held up with a large amount of orders, no boxes and a freak snow storm but that was longer then I expected. Luckily it arrived in great shape. Got it installed today. Haven’t had a chance to take it for a test drive yet or preload the winch.

The pictures and walkthrough here were so helpful!

 

installed last week. Ordered it in early November. Very clean. Baja design 20” combo worked great. No winch.
Doesn't really stick out any further than stock bumper.

No great way to add a license plate. The fairlead plate adapters put plate at odd angle, hanging low, so looked terrible. Guess I'll risk it.

 

The Cascadia mount is very nice. A little pricey, maybe making it slightly more difficult to justify if your not running the winch. But, it works.

 

Thank you. That is a great solution. I spent an hour looking at plate holders and never saw this one.

Well mine showed up today. Had time to make sure light fit but will be awhile before I have time to install it. Heavier than I was expecting.

 

Thats awesome looking. What License plate mount are you using?

 

Going to try to install mine this weekend, solo. I have a jack and stands, and I'm going to use the packaging to help protect it. Hopefully I can do it in less than eight hours.

I should grab a set of cutoff discs for the Dremel tonight, though.

 

During the bumper install I added a plate mount behind the hawse fairlead that has screw knobs. I knew it was going to look dorky so I have been running around for about 18mo w/o the plate and haven't had any of the constabulary I've happened upon give me a second glance. Since the plate and screw knobs are in the truck I can easily put it on if it gets me out of a ticket. Have a plausible story memorized.

It is working pretty well. However, the license plate itself is pretty bent up due to the wind and beating on the trail.
