FS: Waterproof Under Bed Rail LED lights - 3rd Gen

Hey Matt, are the only options to wire to the car battery? Or are there any options to have a battery pack ran by AA or AAA for example?

 

I'm currently using this battery pack and adapters to run my softopper lights from @mattgecko. It works great.

Awesome. Thank you for sharing that. Do you just keep that mounted in your bed at all times or how is that set up?

 

I have a tote under my bed platform that I keep the battery pack in. You can see the white wire running to the lights in the picture below.

 

How many LED strips are you running in the bed? How much run time do you get out of that battery pack?

 

The battery should last About 5.54 hours. I charge it once a month or so for for measure.

The battery pack powers two 39" strips on my softopper bars.

 

Is it hard wiring the led light strips to connect to your power bank? I am very new to electronic mods...

 

2nd 3rd Gen Tacoma, 2nd set of bed lights. Just as pleased as I was with the first ones. GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!

 

It's just soldering, shrink tubing, and wire loom.

This is the harness I made. I added the mating end of the weather pack connector to the lights. This allows me to easily remove my softopper still.


If you're doing the bed lights, it's really easy to wire them to the truck battery. @mattgecko has really easy to follow instructions for his kits.

Hey Matt... do you have any pictures of the ORANGE Under Cab LED Lights? I'd like to see how they look.

 

I made a set for a customer with an orange truck but she never shared pics.

Could you light up a set you have and take a pic? I just want to see how ORANGE they are... or if they lean towards AMBER. Maybe it would even be good to post pics of the different colors you have on your website.

 

Hey Matt, finally got around to creating an account so I could ask a question lol. For your bed+Softtopper kit is there a quick disconnect for the wires going to the light strips on the Softtopper for easy removal? If not any recommendations for a quick fix on that? Stoked I came across this thread, will definitely be looking at ordering a kit once I pull the trigger on the topper.

Yes the kit comes with quick disconnect crimp connector plugs.

 

Hey Matt, I'm looking to order the camper shell lights. Do you have an option where I can switch the color from cool white to amber/red?

 

I only make single color light strips but can make a set of 2 white and 2 red LED strips with 2 bed mounted switches. PM me if interested, cost will be slightly higher than a regular kit.
