Found some old pictures of my 1983 nissan/ datsun 720. It was my first 4wd truck and what got into offroading. I even made a cool shiftknob for it out a shirt pin.

I actually prefer the look of the Frontier over the 3rd gen Tacoma (2nd gen its a tie) but ultimately back in 2014 when I was looking for a new truck the interior was the deciding factor. Both are fantastic trucks that will last decades, but what was the Nissan designer thinking when they came up with the steering wheel? :puke:

Looks like the 2021 model will have an updated interior though I am not in the market for a new truck.

I don't mind it at all. That steering wheel was common on pretty much every Nissan from 03-10. They really should have updated the interior more in 2010 when they slightly updated the whole truck.

Nissan is going downhill no doubt. But we shouldn't underestimate the Nissan Frontier. It's a very solid truck for the price.

That’s because Nissan partnered with Renault; My cousin is a military buff and says that Renault is so shitty that even the French military won’t buy them!

The Nissan Frontier is a solid truck, and has certain things that the Tacoma lacks like 4-wheel disc brakes and standard intermittent wipers, but I’ve always found the ride quality of the Frontier to be harsher than the Tacoma.

I got a 2020 Frontier as a free rental while my truck was in the body shop after it got hit in the parking lot last September; I think my truck rides smoother!

They were the ultimate disposable little truck. People drove them until nothing was left. They were easy to fix and cheap to own. I bought one new in 1987 and drove it until 2002 when it would not pass e check in our area. I sold it to a guy who lived just outside of our echeck zone and he drove it another year on the same roads I could not drive it on before it gave up the ghost. Your lucky to have the one you do. Hang on to it.

I purchased this truck recently and it’s in really good shape. 4x4 and very clean interior. However I’ve had to do a lot
Of maintenance that wasn’t kept up with. But it brings back memories. I remember seeing this truck as a kid and I’ve
Always liked them. I’ve replaced almost entire fuel system, ecm, and now my brake pedal goes all the way to the floor that I almost hit someone yesterday! It’s been a money pit but it had been sitting for a long time till I put my hands on it .

The Frontier also feels like it has the turning radius of a Battleship too.

That looks just like one my dad used to own, except my dad's came with an ugly cap on the back that he never bothered to remove since he owned the truck for less than two years; Hard to believe that my Tacoma that I've owned since new is older now than my dad's 1990 Mazda was when he bought it (and in much better condition too)!

    o_O

Saw this 2001-2004 Pathy in an apartment complex parking lot while making a DoorDash delivery last night; In addition to those totally out-of-place wheels, it also seems to have a bumper from rebadged Infiniti QX...

I had a 1996 Pathfinder SE before my current truck and I loved that thing; Absolute beast in the snow!
