My girl's Jeep Cherokee Trail hawk has an electric switch activated e-brake and I love it as opposed to the pedal press to engage e-brake. Living on the side of a mountain, there's no level places to park, so I am always using parking brakes.

Turn signal indicator mounted up higher so you can see them without looking down. Or a click click noise. I’m sure if I spent the time I could find a 12v noise maker that isn’t too annoying.

Front turn signals that are better visible, not just head on in front. I’ve seen the mod to swap to 3rd gen mirrors.

Auto down on all windows, again.

    Better power to displacement ratio.

    More powerful engine
    Transmission dipstick
    Heated Mirrors
    Bed lights
    Glove box light
    Rear disc brakes
    Higher payload capacity
    Voice recognition that actually works
Factory navigation that gives you enough advanced warning before the upcoming turn
12V or USB ports for rear passengers
    Outside temperature monitor

Other than that it’s a great truck. And even with all its shortcomings I’ll still take a 2nd gen over a 3rd gen.

I wish Toyota would have put more effort into providing more practical storage space within the front cab. I'll never understand why my truck has 7 cup holders in the front (6-speed manual).

Auto up and down windows and automatic climate control. Like my 08 4 runner had. 300hp from the factory (like my Chevy Colorado work truck has) instead of spending 6gs on a supercharger, hood struts.
