New owner to a 2021 Tacoma. 1260 miles and got check engine light. Aftermarket trd pro Leds are on add a fuse Efi no3 fuse 10a. I noticed the light was on while in garage and I couldn’t get it to turn off. I unplugged it without disconnecting battery then turned it on and engine light went on. I have the Mc auto aftermarket ones and got was perfect and no issues until now. Another thing I didn’t mention is I’ve had these lights since dec. last year no issues.

Turned on truck on and off several times engine light remained on then all of a sudden it went away. Took it for a drive and all seems to be working and the leds lights are shutting off on their own again.

    Wire looks pinched.
Also it seems these trucks are sensitive to electrical doodads, if not installed properly, added to that I wouldn't trust Chinesium aftermarket stuff.

Yes it was pinched since I didn’t want to drill hole or run it around the inside of the fuse box. But this is a month in of them being installed. Mcauto resent some Leds and I’ll try to run it so it’s not pinched. I was hoping for some other guys experience. You think I should reinstall grill and take them off before taking it to dealer?

I think there's a high probability they'll try to blame your wiring and aftermarket lights. Maybe disconnect and drive for a few days and see if the ECU calms down?

That add a fuse is severely pinched. You should cut a small piece of the fuse lid out so the wire can come through without being damaged. Not sure if that's what is causing your issue but it definitely isn't good to do that either way.

The engine light went away after I unplugged it out and in several times so I may just take them off or add a switch. But I did pinch it pretty good with the lid. I would have thought the issue would have been here a month ago since installed.

Post #417 should help you go into the fusebox without drilling. Good luck!

Update. I been watching playoffs in garage and I found another add a fuse I went through the bottom of the fuse box where all the other wires come through to avoid te pinching it. I replaced the old fuse from the EFI NO3 (drl) and I went to the 10A INJ no they only turn on if ignition is on. Before they turned off when the drl went on/off but were coming on randomly while the truck was off. I hope this fixed it and crossing fingers the engine light doesn’t come back. Hope this helps anyone that goes aftermarket grill/leds.
