When you say odometer isn’t working

Do you mean it isn’t changing mileage?
Or it doesn’t show anything at all - No number?

Did you verify that it was in fact the actual NSS that was faulty, and not any upstream wiring/connectors before you fired the parts cannon?

Are we talking about the speedometer or odometer?

The odometer is what tells you mileage.

A code that indicates a fault with a module isn't necessarily proof that the module is bad, it could well be a fault with the wiring, connectors, or something else. From the way you have described this, my first guess would be a harness fault. There's a shorted/broken conductor in the harness that is causing the fault. When you R&Rd the NSS, you moved things, and the fault shifted; it wasn't rectified because it wasn't actually in the NSS, but the wiring between the DTC and the NSS; likely fairly close to the NSS if my supposition is correct.

So I got it down to it the NSS isn’t the right one or I have not put it in properly when the transmission is in reverse it thinks it’s in park. And my Speedo is working on and off no bad fuses or relays

Sounds like it needs to be aligned properly. There is a mark on the switch for neutral position.
