They're really nice and good looking, but quite pricey. Probably worth every penny if you are constantly using/opening/closing all day.
    Are they completely water tight?

Washed truck yesterday for the first time since install. No water got in.
Strong, 1600lb load, water tight and lockable. Tailgate theft greatly reduced.
Look for a military discount or group buy.

I have the HD, too, and I dig it. I got the deeper bin that sits behind the cab to help keep all my camping gear more easily accessible. Eventually I'll sell it and get a topper, but for now it suits my needs just fine.

Not 100% watertight - but not the cover's fault. Trace amounts of water get in through those little gaps in the front of the bed behind the cab unless you cover them - I just used silicone and duct tape, but when spring rolls around again I'll replace that temporary fix with either some window weatherstripping or maybe a gasket usually used for boats.

With the deeper bin is there still space underneath for something like a snowboard?

Just ordered my HD with military discount. Not too shabby. Also can't believe that thing includes free shipping since it comes on a pallet.

I have 2-3 more weeks until mine is due to ship. How is the seal on the cab side? That top bar by the cab is slightly raised compared to the bed sides. Would you mind posting pics of that area with the cover closed? TIA!

Will take a pic soon to show the room under the bin. No problem with snowboards!

I want to get this in the future. Do the crossbars interfere w/ the opening / closing of the cover at all?

I love it when people quote the 1600 pound limit on this cover. I'd like to see 1600 pounds loaded that high on top of the bed and see what happens. :frusty:

Not dogging it, I have the same HD cover on mine. :p

You can save a lot by buying an SE with no paint, less than $1400. Still looks great.

If you think you need a 1600lb rating, just know the Tacoma can't handle anywhere near that load. Also the SE can hold more than 400lb, as those # apply to all SE covers ie full sized beds. A more narrow short bed Tacoma SE cover is going to handle more than the 400lb rating.

As far as the cost go's, I just skipped a couple of strip club visits, and that covered the cost. The 8 week wait hurt more than the cost of the cover.

I know someone that has the non-coated version and he said the glare is hell, so I figured even if I got the non-coated version I'd end up paying someone else to have it coated. I just saved the hassle and got the coated SE. It's a great looking cover and I'm looking forward to having mine delivered.
