So I did this stuff a little while ago, but figured I would share here, since I'm going to be finishing up the build on my bed rack pretty soon.
I'm making my rack, well, because I can. The top part is 8020 extrusion. Her was when I got the top section assembled and made sure everything was flat on one of our large granite inspection blocks at work.

Then I started working on the mounting rails for my bed rack I’m building. I split the rails at the end and then bent them to fit the narrower contour of the bed width at the rear of the truck. I will now cut out a filler plate for the gap that was created and weld it in place.

That is slick, can't wait to see it when you're finished!

Are you going to powdercoat the top rails?

My son thinks I can fix anything “at work”. I tell him I can’t fix plastic. This will have to do.

Done! Even drilled holes 16" OC to hang and am including 3" screws & wall anchors. Need to find a nice place to stage them for listing photos.

This happened today. So after Christmas I purchased a Wall Tent along with a Kni-Co Alaskan stove. I wanted a poker for the woodstove that would fit inside the stove (24"). Hit all my local hardware/home improvement stores and all the ones I found were really long. Found a local blacksmith this morning and stopped in to ask if he could make me one. He made it then and there and let me watch. He used 5/16" round steel. Took about 15 minutes. He only charged me $20. Very Cool!

The guy was cool. He made me stand back a little, but was explaining things as he was doing them.
