Dealer SOLD my truck - resolved

I'm just wondering how does Berkshire Hathaway fit into the equation? Why are they on the call when OP is talking to the dealer?

I can understand having call with the sales manager because one salesperson sold you the truck at the same time another salesperson was doing an inventory swap with it, and you want the dealership to find you a comparable replacement, but where did this 3rd party come into the picture?

GM of dealearship wasn't initially responsive. Ownership group https://www.berkshirehathawayautomotive.com and Toyota Corporate got involved. (TW helped me figure out who owned the dealership).

Then GM's tune changed, and honored the price of the original truck (cliffnotes essentially), my SR5 DCLB truck price, on a OR DCLB, and offered free shipping.

 

....and not just any regular OR DCLB ... They gave her a loaded up Premium with LED headlights and leather interior.

For my next vehicle purchase, I am going to ask Julia to help me out.

BUT BUT...my SR5 had predator steps and bed mat!!! They took those away, and give me the LED and moonroof I think thats a fair trade, hearing how you guys all hate the predator steps!

 

I don’t mind the predator steps.
My wife loves it since she is only 5’1.

 

I know. I need to get steps. But my 2018 SR I didn't need steps. I don't know if the OR 21 is higher or same, due to tires and shocks.



Dealer just booked the transport for me. Pickup window is 1/28-2/3. They are on top of it (so far)

Just checked it. Truck has 2 miles on it now and all doors are locked

Well they are supposed to receive truck tonight. Said 1 day PDI (tomorrow). Truck ready to be picked up Wedesday by delivery company. At that point delivery company provides a window.... I am at their mercy

Congrats Julia. I've been following your journey and hope all does end well. You're gonna love the cement color. Not being the most fastidious guy around, I thought that my silver rigs always covered that fact up the best. The cement beats silver by a mile. Great color choice for a farm girl--looks pretty clean even when it's not. Enjoy!
