Reposting here to see if I get anymore luck

    Hi, I have a 2017 tacoma that I'm adding a 4 channel amp too.

I'm trying to wire channel 1 and 2 to the front speakers by tapping into the existing speaker wire from the back on the stock headunit.

I'm running wire from channels 1 and 2 from the amp and tapping into the door speakers from behind the headunit but it isn't working. No sound is coming out. What I'm i doing wrong?

Basically I'm trying to amp the door speakers by t-tapping into the existing stock speaker wire from behind the headunit.

I've noticed the door speaker wiring is a different color than the image below. Example front right door is blue/grey for pos and negative when you take off the door panel and look at the wiring.

But behind the headunit the same door is violet/red for positive and violet/green for negative.

    Help would be awesome.

    I'm using this:

The fronts go to the tweeters then to the doors. That might explain the change, but idk. @destin_meeks maybe?

The audio sub might be more help as well

Thats what I was thinking, maybe I have to bypass the tweeters and wire it after that?

So you’re on the right track here. There is a crossover or something that doesn’t provide a clean signal for your amp at the speakers in the door. You have to tap in at the head unit. Taco tunes sells a harness that I used to get line inputs into an amp. Worked great. I think it taps into the rear speakers though. Here’s the link.

I just realized you are trying to amp your fronts instead of getting a line input from them. My bad. What I mentioned above might not help. I do know the guys at ********* know their stuff with the Taco stock audio system so maybe give them a shout?

The crossovers are built into the factory tweeters, a capacitor is inline. In order to amp the door speakers you have to separate the wires at the tweeters and run a new line to the headunit for the tweeters and use the existing wire to run the amp signal to.

Could I bypass the tweeter and wire it to the positive and negative wires on the door, instead of tapping into the wires in back of the headunit?

Yes you can. Just make sure you disconnect the tweeter from the output.
