OEM Audio Plus for JBL systems

Just got the notice, it’s happening...

 

Figures since I just dropped a grand on upgrading some house speakers. Time for overtime! Going to be watching this closely.

Hmm. I just spec'd out a full replacement of my JBL system too. Hopefully this is worth it, I would love to keep the stock head unit.

Wonder when they will have more information... Full drop "next week" was last week. From what I think I heard on the phone, the upgrade maintains the JBL speakers.

 

Love to know more. I dont want to replace everything, it just needs more power

 

I don’t even want to know how much this is going to cost. The price they have for the normal set up is beyond ridiculous, and I’m not a cheap person.

Wow! Thats way more than I want to spend.

 

If your options are 1) pay someone to install a system, or 2) buy this and install it yourself, I would spend this coin and buy this kit if you can’t install a normal system on your own.

the plug-and-play aspect of this makes it a very good choice to get a good system for less than a shop is going to charge you for a similar quality product, but then you have a 60-70% chance of whatever shop you pick just completely butchering the work they charge you for.

 

I ordered this kit for those exact reasons. I love my truck but man was I disappointed with this expensive "premium" JBL system. I wish I would have done the research on it before buying my 2020 because I would have definitely got the non-JBL. Oh well, live and learn. Another reason for me was that I really like the stock head unit and not really interested in third party ones. Hopefully I will have the kit in a few weeks and can share some feedback.

If you’re not going to do the install, I would suggest getting an audio shop to install a different setup. The OEM+ is extremely expensive, but mainly because it is completely plug and play. You can get much better quality equipment for cheaper. At least that’s what I’ve heard about it.

Don’t get me wrong; it’s decent quality, but you pay a premium for the plug and play aspect of it.
