Question at Katzkin leather on back seats

So, looking to upgrade my interior on my 2016. 3 kids and a dog have caused some soiled upholstery.

I am wondering about the back seat of a double cab. I have a big dog and I need to fold down the back seats so the plastic backs are flat. Then put a rubber mat down so the big glue doesn't skate around on his toe nails.

My question is what the back on the seats look like with Katzkin? If there are any straps like a leather seat cover does then its a no go. Dog is big and it would just break. Not a matter of if, but when.

A shell would solve my issues, but I can't justify 3 grand and seat upgrade.

 

The katzkins replace the factory covers, everything remains the same but with leather. You still have the plastic backs on the backs.

 

Katzkins install the same as your factory interior with hog rings...you’ll need 8 hours and strong finger tips. There are no visible straps like you see with covers.

 

I’ve only done the 2 front seats so far and think I’m going to hold off on the back seats Until the littles get out of car seats. I don’t want to stretch/dent the leather.

But there are no standard seat cover straps (there is the bottom flap strap but it’s on the bottom) and use of hog ring pliers like factory. Removing the covers and installing isn’t bad at all IMO

Tips: I found the bent handle pliers to be helpful and easy to see where I’m at in the foam. heating up the leather helps (leave in the sun or I had a space heater I’d hold in front for a couple mins). Headrests keep factory covers on and wrap in a bag, vacuum seal and slide the leather on like butter.

 

I have practically new 2016 OEM front seat upholstery for sale cheap if you are interested. It came out of my truck when I installed Katzkins at about 500 miles.

 

So..... how did you even purchase the upholstery? I can't find anywhere that will sell without going through an installer

 

I ordered my truck before leather was offered. I have the weird set up of cloth heated seats. Need the leather for easy clean ups. Thanks though
