    So more about myself.

    I am 23
Lived in Canada for 21 Years
Work for ESM Security out in Winnipeg
First Truck I've had, unfortunately is a lease but thinking of buying it once the lease ends.
    2020 White Tacoma with a 3.5L D4S V6 Engine, 6 speed Auto, Access Cab, with I believe a 5ft bed.

Right now I've been having to use it for work. (don't worry, work does compensate for all the things they need to.)

Modifications I'm wanting to look at:

Reinforced Bumper with Push bar and winch
LED Fog lights and Floodlight Bar with the flood bar having an Amber light flashing mode

    Previous two will explain after.

Reinforced Rear Bumper with tow hooks
    Better Brakes
    Little bit higher suspension
    Headache Rack
Emergency Supplies secure storage container for the truck bed.
    Bigger Tires

Now to explain the first two

I have a light bar system on my front dash that I use when I have to use my truck for work. And since the company has the permits, when I work for the company, the permit covers me to use the strobe lights when I'm on a job site.

Now on my off time, if the roads are really bad, or I'm depressed, or just cant sleep, I typically go out to the perimeter and do a lap, and if I see anyone whose stuck on the side of the road, I stop and help them out, as I am the kind of person to help others, and not asking for anything in return.

As I stated, the companies permit covers me when I'm on shift. Now there has been times where I have stopped to help people during a bad storm, had my vehicle a bit back with hazards on, and unfortunately people just don't pay attention or don't care, and have almost struck my vehicle. Now the purpose of getting Floodlight Bar with flashing amber is for those kind of situations, where visibility is bad, having those on while assisting someone would help so much cause then drivers would see it and slow down. Now of course I would need to get the permit, which is simple to do, I just haven't had the time to do it yet. I have been speaking to ProUpfitters out in Winnipeg, as they are the ones who outfit the WPD vehicles. So they would be able to handle the flashing amber stuff.

I know that Carson Truck Fitters has some stuff, but I'm waiting for them to release the 2020 Toyota Catalog to see what they have available.

Another thing I forgot to mention is I'm also looking into getting a good front and back Dash cam, preferably that has integral GPS and Speed, all the standard stuff like G motion, collision detection, good camera angles and night time picture quality. But would like to have parking mode where it has its own battery that lasts a decent while. So I'm looking for recommendations on that, actually that's how I got to this site was looking for that.

Anyways, I'm glad to have found this community, and would love to meet up with fellow Tacoma owners that are out in Winnipeg. And I look forward to hearing all you guys recommendations and suggestions.

    Welcome to TW!

I know nothing about leases but can you do modifications on them? Or are you talking about doing them after you buy it?

Definitely the 6 foot box. You can only get the shorter box with double cab.

Oh - and I’d go easy on the modifications if it’s a lease. I don’t know how they feel about lease returns with aftermarket bumpers and shit. It’s also a lot of money to sink into someone else’s vehicle. If you really feel like you need aftermarket strobe lights for the odd time you assist someone roadside, there are lots of magnetic mount lights that you could slap on, or more appropriate maybe, LED road flares you can lay out on the road for approaching vehicles to have a bit of a heads up.

Thats what I thought as well, but main thing is that my parents are worried about messing up the warranty. Also I spoke with my dealer, they said they have had people modify the trucks while still on a lease, and they still were able to sell them. Main thing is that everyone is different when it comes to how they modify the truck, so when they sell it, it can take some time due to finding someone who is looking for the modifications already existing on the truck. As for the warranty, they say so long as it doesn't mess up any of the factory parts, like say aftermarket fog lights, so long as those fog lights are not the cause of say the regular lights having technical difficulties, then the regular lights are still covered for the warranty. And fortunately most aftermarket parts have their own warranty.
