What is the best option for a bed rail mounted tri fold bed cover you folks are aware of?

Bought this Taco appx. 3 yrs. ago with a ExTang Solid Fold (phone# 1-800-877-2588). I'd never had a bed cover before & figured I'd sell it. Nope, I love it, easy to fold, easy to remove, if needed. Only neg. I have is mine will let a little water in. I don't know if it should have a gasket, mine didn't have one. Doesn't get real wet but some water will run down the floor. It's the only one I've been around, I have no clue how it will compare to others.

There are just as many opinions as the oil change threads and tire threads. Something to consider is that some tri-fold tonneau covers only allow 2/3 of open bed usage unless you remove the tonneau completely. In my opinion Bakflip is the best.

My plan is to sell or trade my snug top canopy for a folding bed cap so I can get a low profile rack for a RTT Roof top tent.
Budget….. I’m cheap. Or lets say frugal.

You’re going to have a real tough time finding a folding tonneau that will clear a rack.

KB Voodoo looks to have a good setup.

I understand that my access will be limited while the RTT is in place. That’s okay.

The rest of the time it will just be my golf clubs in the bed and I’ll take the RTT brackets back off giving me full use of the bed cover.

Where are you? Someone on here might be close enough to meet up and willing to trade one for the other.

It's me....I'm "someone" :) ....depending on your location

Ok, so it turns out I am not, in fact, "someone"...Illinois here.

But still, the fact remains, someone might be close to you and looking for a shell and has a tri-fold. It's worth a shot.

As far as the original question. I have a tyger brand off Amazon. It works ok. I didn't care for the rear locks, so I bought some spring loaded catches and modified the rear panel to automatically lock when closed. I don't like the loss of 1/3 of the bed area when what I'm hauling is over 15" tall, so for that reason....I agree with getting a bak-flip if budget allows.

    Bummer & Thanks

I’ll give a try to asking if anyone’s interested in a trade.

As for the lock, I’m going to add a locking tailgate latch seeing how mine didn’t come stock with one. I already found one that accommodates the BU camera.
