Looking to get some insight on replacing the condenser on a 2006 Tacoma 4.0L. I've noticed some of the auto suppliers indicating that their including a dryer in their kits. I don't see a dryer in the Toyota service manual.

Does anyone know if you need to buy this separately or is it built into the condenser?

Sorry let me clarify. For example RockAuto is selling a dryer kit made by DENSO P/N 4781500. It comes with a package of desiccant and three fitting.

So not sure if this is something you need to buy in addition to a condenser from a third party like GPD or is this something that is only for a Denso condenser?

It’s built into the condenser. You don’t need to worry about that.

Be glad it’s the condenser and not the evaporator!

My evaporator sprung a leak in 2016 or 2017, and after two recharges the problem was finally discovered in September 2018; Almost $1,600 for parts and labor!

OK, that's what I thought it was built in. So wonder why RockAuto is selling a dryer kit?
