I'm new to Tacoma World and thought this would be a great place to get some opinions on which 33" tire I should get. I'm looking at three 285/70/r17 BFGoodrich KO2s, 255/80r17 Cooper's S/T Maxx, and 255/80r17 Toyo Open Country A/T III. I do a lot of trails in the snow, but I also equally go mudding and "normal" off-roading. I'm not leaning towards one more than the other so any opinions or incite would be greatly appreciated.

    Love my Coopers.

Not only are the 'K-bro-2's overrated they're utter garbage. The original KO A/T was *WAY* better in every department except looks.

But looks can pop shove it if they don't put out.

Fortunately the Coopers look just as good and preform in every aspect better, even less considered ones like balancing. (But I can't say for snow as I haven't had them in snow yet personally however my snowflake KO2's were worse than my non snowflake KO's so my guess is it's just marketing wank.)

Good in powder, but mud tires are *NOT* recommend for actually icy climates.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
between the two tire sizes you suggest there is a difference in fitment.

Depends on your wheel specs and how much you're willing to hack up your truck (if needed) to avoid rubbing.

The 255's on OE spec wheels won't require anything to clear. Lots of thread around on that topic.

Once you decide on a size, then reconsider your branding options.

    Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT.

They might not be quite as good in the mud as the STT Maxx, but they will beat them everywhere else, and are cheaper.

This is why I only run my sst pros in the spring to fall months. I run studded duratracs on different rims in the winter
