I just got my 50% deposit email, and they didn't show the silver hardware as still being an option for some reason.

Interesting. Maybe not enough demand and they rather just focus on one color for now.
Congrats on the 50%. Seems like a lot of deposits going in

Seems like there was a nice chunk of 3rd gens that all went through around the same time. Seems like it supports the idea that they're making them in batches for specific vehicles, which definitely makes sense from a manufacturing perspective.

Earlier you guys were discussing plates and interior power point mounts and the like. If you are a moderate DIYer and don't have a rivnut gun yet getting one for your SP build is the perfect time. I have about every tool known to man, perhaps it's gotten to an obsessive level, but I didn't break down and buy a rivnut tool until earlier this year. There are some great deals on Amazon. You won't regret it.

Here's the exact one I got. Quality and hardware are good for Amazon/China.

Yeah the rivnut tool is great, I went with this one:
Astro Pneumatic Tool ADN14 Rivet Nut Drill Adapter Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JBO58F...abc_2GNRG6S6NNPA544GD4Y2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Looking at the inside of my SP, I don’t think I’ll have anywhere to use it though. They’ve got rivnuts everywhere!

Wow, that's pretty cool. I did not come across that style when looking. Much better for tight spots.

Wow, mine has been phenomenal. Did you get a replacement?

These work on anything sturdy enough to set the rivnut. Any metal, and you can even set them in some plastic. Sometimes you need to put a washer on the back, just like you would a regular rivet on some things like plastic.

Haven’t broken the material barrier of using organic muscle tissue, but I’m sure it can handle beef no problem.

If you meant steel, it’s mostly on the rivnut and how carefully you apply the pressure. For example, I have used it on 1/8-3/16”ish plate and it was fine. I’ve also used rivnuts on the composite bed sides, with no problems at all. Nothing crazy weight bearing of course

Sooo super excited that the 2nd gens are rolling and I’m on the clock but just my luck. Had a bit of a setback. I should still be able to make it.
