That's the whole point of my having black bumpers, sliders and wheels. I just hit it with some rattlecan after they get banged up on rocks and trees.

Interesting opinion on aftermarket wheels. I think cheap wheels look cheap, but nice wheels on a stock truck still look nice.

Im honestly surprised that there isn't more hate for CAI's in this thread.

How do we feel about after market skid plates?

I just want to say, as a new 3rd gen Taco owner, I find this thread extremely useful and entertaining during my honeymoon phase of ownership.

The only thing on here I disagree with so far is the stock interior lighting, it was the first thing I changed and I couldn’t be more pleased with being able to see better in the dark. I was super interested in the Raptor grill lights but after reading this thread not so much anymore. Also glad to see no one has said the power tailgate lock and bed mat, so I can confidently go forward with those.

I came from the Jeep world so I am not at all foreign to useless (and regrettable) mods. I leaned about e-rated tires and unnecessary lifts a while ago...lol.

what did you change for interior lighting? I’m on the fence for the LED map and dome lights. But those are things you can turn off or on... they do not produce unwanted reflections while driving.

Same man, it's practically worthless, hardly holds anything. I do regret it, but your right it's easy to remove. I do however still use their little headrest mount and pouches. I use them for basic medicines etc.

I bought a kit on Amazon that replaced the dome light, map lights, vanity mirror lights and license plate lights. It was less than $20 for it all. I’m sure someone will be along to say I should have bought a more expensive kit, but for Christ’s sake it’s PnP and idiot proof. I just kept the stock bulbs in case I ever desire to change them back, but I don’t see doing that (I did the same thing with my Jeep).

AUTOGINE Super Bright 6000K White LED Interior Light Kit Package for 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 Toyota Tacoma + Install Tool https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0834MGNH...abc_1XKD48VPZWY0Q9JG4PB1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

BTW the license plate bulbs were a little frustrating as many people have mentioned, but once you figure out the trick it takes about 20 seconds to do them.

I’m surprised to hear this about the attic. I thought at the very least it would be useful for storing some jackets. I want to diy one for that reason.

If your willing to pay 85$ to poorly store 2 jackets..it's ok. Doesn't do a great job holding them in. Just not worth the price. You can probably do better DIY

My favorite jacket storage is a mini hammock from west marine or sea-dog. They fit across the width of the back of the cab hanging from the seat belt mounts in an extra cab and leave plenty of space underneath. I also had one behind the bench seat in a regular cab work truck with all my work clothes, gloves and ppe stuff in it hanging off the bench itself. We also liked using them on either side of the camper shell for me and my girlfriend's stuff while camping out of the truck. Jackets, shorts, hats, etc. They hold a ton of stuff and cost $5. Sorry it's not a useless mod. I'll show myself out the door.

You know , if you keep it stock and use the crap out of it ... you will see what is “essential “ and only add that part.
this is opposed to adding things that the internet told you were cool.

basically don’t trust a damn word anyone says. Wait till you need it before getting it . Cant see at night ? LED off road lights. Got stuck bad and no way out ? Winch. Tired of bottoming out and bouncing ur brains around ? Add 2.5” shocks and hydro bump stops...

Then the mods won’t be useless right ?

Why? I’m just curious because I just put overlays on a few weeks ago. Did you have problems with them?

    Lots--
Any aftermarket cold air. I tried 2 different ones and they sounded horrible paired with my MBRP down turn exhaust. I pulled them both off and sold/returned.

    I cut my stock 2020 bumper at 3,500... I don't have ragrats
