Power Tailgate Lock

Hi there,

I have a quick question. How do I know my 2021 Tacoma has power tailgate lock equipped?

Step 1:You hit the lock button on your remote
Step 2: Try to open your tailgate

If you can't open it, you have tailgate lock...

That is what I thought, so I bought a OEM Power Tailgate Lock and tried to install it.
After watching several Youtbue videos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gz-8j4S3Dkw) with multiple times, I opened my tailgate cover, and I found out I already have two wires connected to the lock already(all videos show only have one wire). That's why I tried to find out I have it installed already or something wrong to cause the remote is not working.

When you opened the tailgate cover, did you see an actuator? If not, then you don't have the power tailgate.

Yes, I saw actuator when I opened the cover. Do you have any idea why it is not working? Thank you.

 

Take it into the dealership and make them fix it under warranty
