I know there are many forms talking about recovery tow hooks, I was wondering if any one had ever mounted tow hooks to their frame, then to the stock bumper, I found a hidden winch mount, but I don’t want the weight of a winch part, just would like to add tow hooks that are higher up than my factory tow hooks. For example in the picture it has d ring hooks, and a winch mount, but I’ve been looking for just the d ring hooks and mount.

Thanks I’ll look into it. I know this is off topic, but do you know of a good flip up license plate holder to cover the hitch?

Depending on where you live, you might not even need the front plate.

Since I built my bumper, I couldn't decide on a good place for mine, so I just stuck it on the passenger side dash. It's obviously not ideal there either, but I just haven't gotten off my lazy ass to make one that I find acceptable. The problem is that the way my bumper is shaped, the license plate is going to be at a weird angle, and I'd prefer it not covering the winch.

yeah I can understand that, Arkansas does not require a front plate, but I have decided to go with a hidden front receiver hitch which is much less weight on the front and allows me to remove the wench on and off. Just was wondering if there was an easy way to cover it so you can’t tell it’s there until I need it.

You could probably just do a couple thick pieces of rubber, and bolt the plate to those. Then you can just bend it up out of the way when you drop the winch on.

Not sure if it would flop around in the wind, though...

yeah it could and if they got hot the rubber might become flimsy. I think I might try to just put a plug on it and see if it’s noticeable.

I looked at those I just was wondering how far it would stick out. Was wanting something that would be kinda flush with my stock bumper
