So I received Boomers centre console LED illumination wiring setup

I also added the blue accent light in the cup holder area.

I decided to do a write up on it to make it a bit easier for the next guy

Sorry if some of it is obvious just skip the parts you don’t need.

I started by removing the centre console cover. I had never done this before and it was a lot easier than I assumed.

I took some cheap trim removal tools I got off Amazon and slowly started prying from the front to the back.

Pops right off with very little effort.

I decided to tap into the USB charging port wires that are inside the console.

Here is a picture of the kit I received ordered bright white led for inside the console and I also decided to install the blue led below the cup holder as I have the blue door handle bowl lights and this adds to it nicely.

Pictures of location where the LEDs end up.

Next step is to drill the two holes for the LEDs start small and slow as the plastic is soft and the bits will grab
The final size I went to was 1/4 inch
The bulbs come with a collar that snaps into the hole then the bulb clips into that.
Bulb was a little loose in the clip and with pressure it could be pushed in so I used some clear glue and additional heat shrink to ensure this didn’t happen.

Next step is tap into the charging port wires taps come with the kit.

My experience with these crimps is they work a whole lot better with a extra squeeze

Next step is to plug all the parts together and add some tape and tywaps .

This is what they look like off and console installed again.

But more importantly what they look like in the dark.

Literally night and day this is full black garage no truck lights just the LED.

The next picture is of the blue accent light it’s hard to see it just adds an additional blue hue to that area and is subtle would not require dimming.

    A few follow up items
Yes the lights are on with the key but you can’t see the console one unless you open the cover, I tried in the pitch black.
Second the blue led is also on but as stated before it’s so subtle you can’t see it in day light and it’s a nice hue at night adds to the blue bowl lights I have nicely.

THANKS @oostroma for making a quality product that you could use pretty much anywhere to add LEDs

My wife also thanks you as she has dug in that console in the dark to plugin or retrieve the kids charging cords in the dark way to many times.
