Snow removal = a good work out.

 

Good morning everyone.

My parents received the first shot of the COVID vaccine (Moderna) on Friday. They are both in their late 70’s and live in upstate NY. Second shot scheduled in 30 days. No adverse reactions for either of them, but they were told that the second dose has a higher probability of reactions.

My mother has been trying to get one, but to no avail yet. She is 81 and was in the hospital about 10 days ago. This hospital had the COVID vaccine but for some reason did not offer it to her and she did not ask about it. My wife works in the school so they have her scheduled to get one, but no date is set yet. She would like to know which vaccine they are offering her, but that information is apparently not available.

Yep, circle of life, but still sad and depressing. Work all your life to get things you want and you can’t take nothing with you. My Dad always said he’s never seen a casket with a caboose.

Or machine some solid steel ones.
Rubber tires don’t tear up the ground as much either.

 

Good morning all. Looks like I need to prep for the pending snow. Snowblower is good to go but the quad needs a battery. Not to mention, the kid in me would rather play in the snow with the quad. Someday I’ll get myself what I would really want to play on the snow with = subcompact 4WD tractor with a cab. Then in the summer I could go around digging holes and filling them back up. A bit overkill for my 0.33 acres...

We are due only about 7 inches of snow but because I have a gravel driveway, a snow blower doesn't work. I'll be going old school, slowly, since I am becoming old school myself.

Good grief, seems like the vaccine should have been offered to your Mom when she was there.

My Brother and S-I-L both work for public school systems in upstate NY and are scheduled for the vaccine next week.

My parents got a bunch of literature on the vaccine when it was administered. I joked with them about it being for future class action...

 

There would likely be a real war if I hit one of my neighbor's vehicles and damaged it, or if I hit the vinyl siding on the garage and blow a hole through it. My wife can be real tough.

I am not sure why she did not ask. They isolated her briefly because, when she went to get a test, she was in the same are as somebody who apparently was found to have COVID. Our state has plenty of elderly and has been slow to distribute - less than 1/2 - and there are still many waiting here.
