Does fuel additive work for extra performance and better mpg?

    ummm......no.

Is your truck having knocking or "pinging" problems? If not, then no need for a bottle of cure in a can. If so, then you likely need to do a bit of maintenance to source why the engine is knocking.

No its not knocking, I was just curious to see if it really gave that "boost" it claims.

Oh, it probably increases the Octane level in the fuel in the tank. But if your engine doesn't need the increased octane..........

Best way to increase mpg is to keep the engine tuned, extra weight out, light right foot, tire inflation, lubes changed.
Increasing HP is a more difficult task that typically requires parts, tuning, boosted inlet pressures.........not from a can.

Yeah, I was just trying to see if it was worth the $12. I know that you cant get that in a can figured it was worth the shot. lol

Ain’t nothing in a can that’s going to increase power/horse power/performance or give you more mpg. Don’t really need a fuel stabilizer in vehicles since the fuel doesn’t stay in them very long. Fuel cleaning additives do actually help clean internal engine parts and are somewhat beneficial. There are cleaning agents in all tier 1 gasoline and they work great. But the amounts of the additives are minimal. Adding a can of fuel additive cleaner occasionally every 5000 miles or so will clean things like valves, injectors etc. more than just the additives that are in the gasoline.

at best a ‘ cure n a can ‘ might clean up some wax .....water deposits resulting in better running

    NOT more power

deposits go with the territory of gas blends & environs

some bottle cures are effective in that respect

yet unless U live out n the hinterlands whereby what U purchase & run

might be suspect ( fresh gas= how many tankers they get a week )

its better to run good stuff tho cost per gallon might be more
