Show your 285/75/16 and 285/70/17

On stock suspension. CMC a must with this setup.

 

Don't know why all the thought into tire, wheel, lift and suspension set ups. Go to 88rotors Tacoma on YouTube. All proven no rub combinations.

I have seen that channel before, actually watched a few for ideas.. however, unless I missed it, I do not see any videos of how they perform out of mall parking lots. We were discussing rubbing off-road at steep inclinations while turning. If I have missed that video or the information could you possibly post it here.

 

My guess is, the post was intended as sarcasm. Lots of nice trucks in and out of that shop tho.

I've watched quite a few "88rotors" videos on you tube & I believe the underlying factor for their installs (on the Tacomas anyway) is a minimum 3" lift with a zero or +1 offset.
I have the 2-2 1/2" ome lift & bought my rims with a +1 offset & the 285's just rub too much without cutting & modifying. I think my next attempt will be 1/2" spacers to see if that makes the difference.

 

I have the OME BP-51 suspension kit at 2.75 lift and 1 1/4 spacers and I only rub in reverse with wheels at full lock left. Don’t rub at any other time.

 

So you are close to a 4"lift really. Maybe that's the trick. I love the look of the 285's

 

I know it's been a while but are those RRW Wheels. I'm considering these hard

 

Or are they SCS Ray 10s. Offset ?

 

Those are Ray 10’s and they are a -12 offset.

Ok got a pic of the drivers side approximately 45 degree turn angle so you can see the clearance. I also went to get my 15K oil change (yes I am one of those that changes the oil every 5k regardless of what Toyota says) so did do some driving in a field in reverse at full lock both left and right and heard or see any evidence of rubbing.. this field has some mounds but unfortunately does not have anything you would encounter while heavy off-roading.

I do think I will trim that plastic back a bit though.. would hate to have the tire catch is while in reverse and tear it off.

 

Cough cough *33x10.5x17* cough. Tires measure at 32.8x10.6, 17x8.5 0 offset wheels, lifted ~1.75-2" in the front, 1" in the rear, 3.5 degrees of castor with Spc uppers. Zero rub dailying so far, going to body mount chop it tomorrow and flex it out on the forklift to see what rubs.

 

Only ones I can find are E rated. Nice tire size and great looking truck.

 

Yeah how are those Kenda’s? Really close to pulling to trigger on a set.

 

Yeah they are a pretty heavy tire, wish this size came in like a C load. But at the same time I plan on wheeling it pretty often, so the thicker sidewall is nice in that way.

I've had them for a week just road driving, and road wise they are great. Pretty quiet, and handle predictably in the rain which is key here in Washington haha. Taking then up in the snow tomorrow, so I'll post how they do!
