2006 Tacoma 4x4 4 cyl

I have 543.000 miles on my tacoma still runs like a champ , head gasket just blew so I replaced the whole engine not bad 4200 with engine labor new clutch ,,, trouble is now I want to replace speed manual and cant find anyone who remanufactures or sells them other then junk yrds

 

what is a speed manual?

 

Does it run like a champ, or blown head gasket?

 

I think the gasket blew, then he had the engine replaced along with the clutch.
What we don’t know is, what he is wanting to replace now.
I haven’t the foggiest what a “speed manual” is?

 

Sorry typo Has 5 speed Manual , ran like a Champ until the head gasket blew , runs great now since replaced engine but I cant find anyone that rebuilds that Tranny Thx

 

I don’t know where you’re located but any reputable shop should be able to rebuilt your transmission. Otherwise you could do it yourself, many online sites sell kits at a reasonable price

thanks im in maryland I have even had much luck finding rebuild kits and I seen it done on you tube deffinately need the right tools and know how

 

not sure how far you are from URD, but they sell a lot of aftermarket clutch, performance parts, and tune a lot of Tacomas. I would call them and they might rebuild or put you in touch with a reputable shop they trust.
