You can upgrade the Deavers too. So if you order the stage 1 but add weight, you can call Deaver to send you another leaf to make it a Stage 2.

@JoeCOVA - how much lift did you get out of your Deaver's? You're St2 right? I have stock length King's coming and now wondering if i'm going to be topping them out. I went that way because I didn't want to relocate. I'd ordered them before I'd picked my leaf pack. Jeff from Deaver's is making me a St2.5. Think I should send the King's back when they get here and get ext?

Yup, I have the stage IIs and got just under 3” lift in the rear. I have the extended Kings but the stock ones should work for most situations.

If you have an opportunity to swap them for the extended ones I would highly recommend it.

I just purchased archive garage towers and will be going to a 12” shock to maximize the the droop from the Deavers.

    Kings 2.5 lift kit
Ended up with RXT leaf springs option 2
Installed the kings myself throughout the week after work.
Went with Kings 650s with adjusters all around.
Rides better than stock on city driving and it takes in the bumps very well, no more bouncing around inside the cabin
Now for some KO2s and wheels...

    Couple of questions:

    1) Did you go with 1” longer rods on the rear?

    2) Have you ever noticed the rears topping out (if you have been in situations where possible)?

Extended as in the extended travel version or did you actually have king add rod length?

A guy at king is telling me that if I do anything more than 1” lift in the rear, that I will need to have them add 1” rod length to the shocks. Vendor I actually purchased from is saying it’s not necessary

I’m looking at doing about 2” lift in the rear and want to get it right so that I don’t have to shell out $250 to replace the rods after the install.

Not bad. (I would have gone Deavers, but what's done is done :) ) Leveling the truck won't decrease stability at all, that's ludicrous. If you don't have any intentions to tow, and prefer the leveled look, then level it. Also, you've probably already noticed, but going with a nice shock, like the Kings, will increase your stability and handling over the stock suspension by leaps and bounds. Something to note on the Kings, you will want to make sure they are in the prescribed optimal range (length) by adjusting your preload. I don't recall the length, but you measure from top of hat to the bottom eyelet. Some guys will crank them up too much in order to level out the truck and end up with a bottoming out thunk when going over bumps. You may be good because you did the 650s over the normal 600s.

    A guy at King? Wierd.

I didn't have them extend the rod nor does 99% of everyone buying shocks. Everyone pretty much gets the King OEM replacements and some opt for the extended travel which removes an internal spacer allowing an extra 5/8" of travel. I would assume a long rod means a longer shock which puts you in a tough spot regarding compression. You dont want the shock becoming the bump stop because they are too long and you reduce up travel.

Everyone running Kings with a lift are typically running the OEM replacements unless they perform a full shock relo

    Thank you!

Yes, it was a King employee. I was going to buy them directly from King because they’re not far away, but this guy had me hung up on the option, saying anything over 1” lift in the rear requires the additional rod length.

The vendor that I ultimately purchased from said the same thing you’re saying, that they have NEVER ordered them with length added.

Agree 100% with this. I would normally agree with someone from King about their own product, but I'm guessing he's confused on what you were talking about because I've never heard of anyone getting longer shafts short of a complete custom setup.

Im with 35s now since then and i like having a bit of rake now. I will be going optiom 3 for the rear instead of my current 2 for the RXTs. Maybe later in the future ill go woth deavers but as of right now these are working well.

Will be installing a 1 inch body lift tho for more tire clearance for better articulation
