Well, I have a decision to make in the next few days. The LGS has a
SCAR coming in. They do not know if it is a 16 or 17 or anything at this
time. They put in requests and get what they get. I guess if they called
they could find out but they usually dont know on some stuff.

Anyway I would have to get rid of a couple things in order to do
it since I just dont have the cash at the moment to do it. I have always
wanted one but the price is up there and only going to get higher.
I almost bought a 16 a few years back but ended up getting
    a Tavor

I guess a question I have is for those who have or have had them is
your thoughts on them good or bad, issues etc.

They got a white Steyr AUG in that didnt even
hit the floor. A guy came in seen them unboxing it, didnt care
about the price, just said he wanted it. They are going to give
me a call first when the SCAR comes in. Sometimes it pays
to know most everyone that works there.

I can personally tell you the scar 17 is garbage for “real world” “ non flat range” application. No idea about the 16.

Yeah dude I love it. 17 is probably one of the best semi auto large caliber platforms you can buy for reliability and usability.

I think it's a little bit much for the smaller calibers, as in I wouldn't be interested in the 16, but the 17 is the tits

Looking to replace the red dot on my S&W victory, it currently has a TRS-25 on it and I forget to turn it off so it constantly has dead batteries. Should I go with a standard RMR style optic or should I go with a larger style optic? NV compatible would be nice.
I’m mainly eyeing Holosun options for budget/battery life.

May be a shot in the dark (no pun intended).

Has anyone had any luck with SA parts / warranty dept? I’ve sent them several emails over the last few months and no response.

I need a replacement set screw for the rear sight on my 10mm 1911 TRP.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Was shooting with a friend who's set screw came out while shooting, he caught it in his mouth! Lol.

Could try an assortment kit like this(that one's metric, it's probably inch), use some blue loctite.
Internal Hex Drive Cup-Point Screws Assortment Kit

I'm more concerned by the agency doing the purchasing. I used to peruse FedBiz.gov (not sure what it's called now) looking for procurement requests. Back in 2012 Department of Education was searching for a contract for 4 million rounds of 9mm. IRS had a similar procurement offer for 5.56.

To some it could appear that federal agencies with budget surplus use that surplus to put a dent into the civilian supply. But, hey, I've only been doing data analysis for a living for about 25 years, so I could be wrong.
