I'm good man. I've got work lined up for April with a local contractor I respect and have always wanted to work for. Honestly, he's one of the only carpenters on the East Side that I can actually learn something from. He is also starting me at more then I was making in my last job. Pretty stoked.
Other then that I've been busy trading stocks. Most of my time on here now is spent in the Market Dive thread. It's really blown up with this whole GameStop thing going on. People are starting to ask the trading equivalent of "What size tires" questions. lol

 

Yes, I am working much of the OT. I have lingering CC debt, and I am banking some comp time for spring/summer.
Not sure on the promotion thing...

Good you hear you're happy about hands-on work. I see you in the invest thread often. I read in there, but I don't have anything to contribute.
What happened with GameStop? I see the news, but I 'm sure there is more to it.

Cool. The worse part of OT is watching Uncle Sam take his cut from it. Luckily, you'll get a lot of that back come tax time but it's still shitty to work an extra 20 hours and see your check go up by 10%. lol

Basically, GME was heavily shorted. Like 140% shorted. That means the shares where borrowed to short more then once, A few guys decided to try and create a short squeeze by using social media to rally a whole bunch of folks to buy and hold the shares. That causes stock prices to go up.

Then Ryan Cohen, Chewy founder and billionaire, joined the GME Board of Directors with 2 of his buddies. He also picked up a 9% stake in the company. The dude's young and smart as hell. That added fuel to the GME rally.

So now the shorts still have to cover at some point but there's way less shares being traded for them to do that with. When they start to cover their short interest that will drive the price up further. Barring some Fed/SEC interaction that will become a cycle that feeds off itself to drive the price way, way up.

There's a lot more to it but that's it in a TLDR version. lol
