I have a 2009 DCSB offroad and I am about to put Bilstein 5100's on it. I also got Tuff Country 2" AAL and Tuff Country UCA'S. I need help figuring out which spring I need to put on the front. I want OME but I see people talk about the 885's 884's and so on. This is my daily and I trail ride with it. Going on a big trip from VA to SD in June with my daughter and I want a good ride. I do not have nor do I plan on adding a heavy front bumper anytime soon. I am in the process off fabricating my own bed rack to borrow a rtt for the trip. So what front OME spring do you guys suggest?

    Same crap everyone else got
I'd say 885's. This will get you sitting right with that rear aal but you won't need uca's.

I went with the UCA'S so if or when I do go higher then they will be there, plus the factory UCA'S are still on there with almost 260k miles on them. Knowing I have a lift I know I'll be a little more aggressive so I figured it would be better to have aftermarket ones. So the 885's are best? Extreme Terrain has these springs but does not say if they are 885's or not https://www.extremeterrain.com/old-...Fiyz0ngmCXANaLOvvTMaApZ3EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Can you tell me if they are or not?

In the product info at the bottom, it says they are "Old Man Emu 2885" so yes those are 885 springs. They may be older stock as they are now 885x springs. But you should be good with those springs.

Thanks man, I wasn't sure of what these really were. This is still somewhat new to me, especially for a Tacoma

We all have to start somewhere. The 5100's and 885 combo is a pretty common one so lots of info but remember ever truck is slightly different so don't get too caught up on comparing the amount of lift you get to other pics you see online.

I understand you. I have noticed that. I hope it ends up how I want it. Im hoping that ill have around half an inch of lift in the rear more than the front before the extra weight is added. Half an inch is hardly noticeable...at least thats what she says...

I pretty much had what you are going for. 5100's with 885's in the front and a 1.5 in single add a leaf in the rear. I have a leer shell that weighs probably over 200lbs. I sit pretty level front to rear with the shell on.

Here's an old pic I found:

Nice! I'm making my own bed rack currently out of 2x2 tubing so ill have plenty of weight to squat the rear. I chose this size so when I eventually add mounting points ill have plenty of surface for brackets and such. After all this is done I just have to get my wheels and tires and it will be ready for the trip out west. As long as I am sitting level with no squat when the rack and rtt is added then ill be happy.
